200 Best Fishing in Retirement Locations

Location Number  62:  Tie with Manistee, MI

Mobridge, SD

Mobridge is a city in Walworth County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 3,574 at the 2000 census.

Indigenous American Oscar Howe did a mural for the town's auditorium. There are also disputed claims that some or all of Sitting Bull's remains were moved to Mobridge. Hall of Fame thoroughbred trainer Bill Mott was born in Mobridge.

On the scenic banks of the Missouri River, Mobridge is Lake Oahe's finest destination. Whether it's enjoying our world-class hunting and fishing, retracing the footsteps of Lewis and Clark and Sitting Bull or shopping on our vintage Main Street, Mobridge has something for everyone to enjoy.

South Dakota contains some of the finest fishing waters in North America. Between the mountain lakes and streams of the Black Hills and the glacial lakes of eastern South Dakota, anglers will find fishing opportunities in stock dams, prairie rivers, and giant reservoirs.  Nearly 30 fish species provide anglers with a variety of fishing adventures. The most popular fish include walleye, salmon, bluegill, crappie, perch, bass, pike, trout and catfish. South Dakota's fishing season, with some exceptions, is open year-round, providing quality, four-season fishing.
